Texas, the second-largest state in the country, has virtually banned abortion with state law SB8, putting a bounty on those who support people seeking abortion care and those who provide abortion care after six weeks. The state has also moved to restrict access to medication abortion. And corporate-supported lawmakers like Rep Briscoe Cain have threatened even more extreme restrictions, including outlawing private insurance coverage for abortion care.
